[Solved] Calc toolbar search box causes crash

Post by HansMo »

Hello, I have a new Lenovo Yoga laptop running Windows 11, windows has all the latest updates.

I downloaded OpenOffice version 4.1.15.
All programs work well except Calc. In Calc only, If I do any search, touch
the find search box, ( enter anything, letter A, words ect ), then when I hit
enter or the up or down arrows OpenOffice crashes.

OpenOffice Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice crashed.

Same problem even if I open a new blank Spreadsheet.

Has anyone heard of this? Is there a fix available?
I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks Hans

Does the search work if you use the menu item Edit -> Find & Replace?
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint

I just tried, Yes, that works, I'll use Edit Find & Replace instead of the find search box. Thanks for the quick reply Hans

Hi robleyd, Thanks for the extra suggestions, this was a new install, never worked, so I don't think resetting my user profile would do much. I'm Ok with the Edit route. I did notice if the user profile reset didn't work, load LibreOffice. I have installed LibreOffice, very nice, I'll probable start using LibreOffice exclusively. Thanks again for your help, Hans
