Hello, I typed a sentence with four hyperlinks separated by a slash (/) and colored sky blue 2. I copied and pasted the sentence to another page, but the first two hyperlinks were dark-colored, and highlighting and changing colors had no effect. Does anyone know how to copy and paste without color changes, or how to change the colors once they've been changed? Thanks!

Re: Hyperlink Color
When you create hyperlinks with Insert → Hyperlink, the colors are determined by options OpenOffice → Appearance → General → Unvisited links and Visited links. Once you've visited the link it uses the latter color. Options are set with OpenOffice → Preferences on a Mac, Tools → Options on other platforms. You can change the colors in the options dialog, but the two choices you have (Unvisited/Visited) will affect every link in every document. If you set the Visited and Unvisited colors to be the same, the color won't change when you visit the link.HOOT wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 3:20 am I copied and pasted the sentence to another page, but the first two hyperlinks were dark-colored, and highlighting and changing colors had no effect. If you need any additional assistance attach a document demonstrating the situation (remove confidential information then use Post Reply, not Quick Reply, and don't attach a picture instead of the document itself). I will not help further unless you attach.
If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Re: Hyperlink Color
All but one of the hyperlinks seem functional. The last, Crestview Chamber of Commerce is not a link, but is coloured blue. Is that the issue? If so, describe exactly how you added that particular text.
Otherwise please describe exactly what issue you have with this document.
And could you please consider updating your signature to show your current operating system and AOO* version.

Re: Hyperlink Color
Please try again. I made a PDF, and all three links work, but I can't change the first two blue, like the last.

Re: Hyperlink Color
The three links are all blue and working on another page, but when I copy and paste them to another page, they look like one attached.

Re: Hyperlink Color
It is confusing for everyone when you create two attachments with the name TEMP.odt. Do not do that!
In your second TEMP.odt, when I select Crestview Chamber of Commerce 2021 Strategic Plan → Format → Character → Font Effects, I see that you have set the Font Color to a light blue. When I select Crestview Demographics → Format → Character → Font Effects, I see a different color. Only you know how that link was built, but I suspect that you did not set the light blue color for it, thus it inherits its color from the character style Internet Link.
The proper way to fix this would be set the character style Internet Link to use the color you want, then rebuild all the links without using Format → Character → Font Effects so they can inherit the style's color. This is better because when you create a hyperlink it gets the correct color right away without having to use with Format → Character → Font Effects, thus they have consistent formatting, and because you can change the all your hyperlink colors by just changing the character style Internet Link.
But if you don't understand styles and you don't want to learn about them, you can apply Format → Character → Font Effects to your links which don't have that light blue color. Given the way the document is formatted, this may be the best you can do. Using the Font Effects dialog on Crestview Demographics I was able to set any color I wanted.
This document is another of the hundreds of cases we see where people use lots of direct formatting (Format menu) instead of using styles. The document would be easier to work with, and you wouldn't have these problems, if you had started using styles from the beginning. Unfortunately, once you start down the path of formatting with the Format menu instead of styes, there is no good way to fix the mess without starting over.
Working with Styles
I will not reply again in this topic unless you provide your real operating system and OpenOffice versions, or confirm that you really use obsolete OpenOffice 3.2 on Microsnot XP.

Re: [Solved] Change hyperlink color
When copying, some programs carry over the hyperlink’s default style. Try pasting as plain text first, then reapply your custom color, which should let you control the formatting.
