Hi,
I would be very grateful for some help. I am experiencing a muddle up between my inverted commas "....and my 'at' figure @. To get @ on the keyboard I have to press ", and to get " on the keyboard I have to press @.
I'd be most grateful if someone has any advice about this.

Try another keyboard in case it is a keyboard problem. Does it happen with other programs besides OpenOffice? If yes, it might be a keyboard issue.

Sounds like you have the wrong keyboard layout selected as your default keyboard layout. Likely you have a UK/GB keyboard but your system has it registered that you have a US keyboard layout. (Something like that, could be the other way round.) In any case select a different keyboard layout to match the keyboard layout that your keyboard actually has.
You can get a look at the differences between these two keyboard layouts here: British and American keyboards
Your forum signature says you are on Windows 7. To change the keyboard layout in Windows 7 see this page: Change your keyboard layout

@robleyd - thank you for the suggestion. I didn't have another keyboard to hand, but would have tried it if I had.

Re: Muddle between @ on keyboard and " on keyboard
@LastUnicorn Thank you for your response. I have Windows 11 (I must see if I can alter that on my profile.) I followed the link and tried to follow the instructions, but didn't get any results that I could see. Undoubted because I was doing something wrong. Anyway, I then belatedly decided just to reboot my computer...and it re-set my keyboard, which is now working properly again.
Thank you again for suggestions.
