[Solved] Sum for Timecodes

Post by RussvA »

Edit: Split from [Solved] User-defined time format (Timecode) because that topic is solved and you have a new question so you need your own topic. Please do not post in another's topic unless you are helping to solve their problem for them.

Hi MrProgrammer

I am sure that you will be please to know that your Video Time Code spreadsheet has saved me hundreds of hours over the past 10 years and that I am still using it today.

I have another challange for you though. I now need to colculate the total time of all 22,000 clips in my stock library but only have the pasted text format data in a column, that I copied each time from your spreadsheet.

Is there a way that I could paste my clip duration 'text' data column in the format "04:54:35:06" and then calculate the SUM of all clips at a rate of 30fps?

Many thanks
Russ

I am glad the spreadsheet is helpful for you.

This shows the sum as a frame count and as a Timecode. Column D has formulas in D2:D99 but you can extend them down. Adjust the formula in F2 to get the sum for all your rows.

If you need any additional assistance attach a spreadsheet demonstrating the situation (remove confidential information then use Post Reply, not Quick Reply, and don't attach a picture instead of the spreadsheet itself). I will not help further unless you attach. Indicate which cell in which sheet you need help with, why you need assistance there, and what result you would like.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.
