Old files locked after update

Post by graygeek »

I recently updated AOO to 4.1.15. Now all my old files are locked, and need to be opened as a copy.
I do not have any ~lock files anywhere. Help please.

.~lock files are hidden files. Do you have Windows set to show hidden files?

If you can't see the hidden file in Windows Explorer then see these instructions on how to show hidden files in Windows 10 or Windows 11: View hidden files and folders in Windows

Yes. I followed the instructions on previous posts. All was well until the last update - then all was not well.

If it was me I would try LibreOffice and see if better luck there. There are good reasons to switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice anyway, some of which are given here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information

Maybe someone else will come along with alternative suggestions.
