[Solved] Use of my own image for background?

I'm quite familiar with Writer and Spreadsheet but I'm new to Draw.

I'm trying to create an image containing numerous photographs on a background of a single photograph. I've been able to insert all of my top "layer" photographs but I can't seem to locate instructions to use my own photo for the background. Is it possible? For visualization purposes, this is to be a poster of photos of all my horses over the years, on a background of a landscape photograph, if that's possible.

Unfortunately, unless I'm missing something, I find nothing that allows me to add to the preloaded backgrounds.

I deleted that suggestion as I couldn't find it either. Instead:

Place your picture on a page, then add a new layer (/Format /Layer) for your later pictures.

Well, it wasn't that easy but as I was exploring that, I stumbled upon the path.

Format/Area/ Bitmaps (tab)/ Import

It was dead easy. I inserted picture and set it to my page size, and ensured it was deselected (no green handles). Then /Format /Layer as NewLayer, Inserted next picture, dragged it to size, deselected it and repeated insertions for other pictures.

I'll try that again as well. I surely am not very well versed with Draw, but I'm catching on.
