[Solved] Content missing from document

Post by doodlebobbop »

Progress on a document was rolled by back what looks like two days. I have no idea how this could happen because I save constantly when I use OpenOffice, because it crashes often on my computer. Does anyone know how I can get that progress back?

I got the progress back because I uploaded it onto a Google Drive. But does anyone know what could have happened to ODT?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

There have been very few reports of such behavior (time stamp showing correct last save date but content from a couple of days before). I did experience that once, many years ago.

I doubt we will have any explanation any time soon. AOO save process is not that secure IMHO. LibreOffice paid some money to revamp it and it is way safer. I were you, I would try and switch if LO works well for your needs. See: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information.
