Load all records on startup

Post by Fred9876 »

I have a very simple form that I used the Wizard to create but unless I scroll to the end it only opens a few records at a time ( out of about 2500) so if I use the built in search at the bottom it only search those few records and not everything. How do i get it to OPEN with all everytime?

Does your application face the same situation if you open the table instead?

Thanks for letting me know...

Ciao, that limitation is only apparent, the asterisk indicates that there are other records beyond 52.
If you hold down the left mouse button on the Next record icon, the number that appears will progressively update.
In other words: everything is fine.

I know the records are there If I scroll down or do as you suggested, but I really would like to be able to open the form and do the search right away. If I dont scroll down (or or more likely simply forget to) so that it shows the record number without the * then the search is limited the the number of records shown with the * - in otherwords I will get a search with no results when I should get dozens

Thanks thats where I was heading orginally but I am extremely short on time - I looked through the tutorials but couldnt find one to populate a listbox from a textbox ( then the next step would be showing an image from the highlighted record in the listbox) - I tried making a query but cant get the correct phrasing and also cant figure out how to use the textbox keystroke event. so I was just going to go with the built in search

Good evening Fred,

Glad to hear from you. Please find a first example of a form with images.

Feel free to edit the form and see fields and buttons properties...

Regards

Nick
