About the forum admin mail address

Post by Hagar Delest »

Dear guest,

If you were redirected to this topic, it means that you mailed the forum admin address for a question that was not within its scope.
The forum admin mail is indeed dedicated to issues linked to the forum software only. Like password or user name lost, problems registering...
Please note that the admin mailbox, like the forum, is managed by volunteers, checking it on their free time. Pending their availability, you may receive an answer within few minutes to... several days.

The admin mail and this forum are English-speaking. If you need help in another language, see: https://forum.openoffice.org/

For all other questions related to the suite, please understand that it cannot be answered by mail. It would defeat the point of the forum!
Or see next post.

Here are some useful links to help you go ahead with the forum:
- What do I do if I can't successfully register on the Forum?
- How to ask a question on the forum
- Survival Guide for the forum

Once you have successfully registered the forum and activated your account, don't retype your question, copy and paste it in a new topic.

Getting help by mail

Post by Hagar Delest »

If you don't like forums, you still can ask your question by mail to the mailing lists:
- Apache OpenOffice: https://openoffice.apache.org/mailing-l ... ist-public
- LibreOffice: https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/ma ... obal_Lists

Note that mailing lists also need you to subscribe to them so that you get the answers automatically.

Beware that with mailing lists:
- You will also get all questions and replies made by the other users (either create a dedicated mail account or create filters in your mail client)
- The mail address used to send the messages will be stored with the messages in the archives
- There is no way to edit/correct/delete messages sent to mailing lists.
