[Solved] Sound alerts, notifications, etc.

Where do I find the settings for sound alerts such as a sound when I save and other system notifications.

In your operating systems settings; may be called something like System Settings.

Yep, a quick web search turns up Customise your Mac with System Settings - Apple Support (UK) among others.

I did some more reading and searching. Yes, what I want are sound alerts for system events. I then went down that path and found no way to set up system event audio settings.

Do I have to buy an Apple App to get this feature?

I solved the problem. Its an Apple systems problem. It is on my desktop only which I use at home, a 2013 running Catalina 10.15.7. I pulled out my laptop which is a 2014 running Big Sur 11.7.2 and in Systems Settings it has all of the system event alerts which my desktop does not have and all of the systems events audio alerts are running and operable.

This then presents the system is what has to be solved. I will open another thread asking if I can upgrade my desktop to the Big Sur system by replacing it Catalina system or do I have to buy and install new system software to give me the systems alerts option that audiolizes those systems alerts.

Sorry for my not realizing I had a computer systems software problem and not a an OpenOffice systems software problem.

You should definitely ask this in an Apple forum.

through further searching, I cannot run Big Sur on my 2013 desktop. Before upgrading my computer, I am looking to see if SonorOs is available and will it run on my Catalina system desktop.

I can and am looking for these answers on the internet now.
