OpenOffice quit unexpectedly

Post by Robtow »

Edit: Split from [Solved] Your personal settings are locked because you now have a new problem, namely that OpenOffice quit unexpectedly. That is different than your original topic about the personal settings being locked.

Quite right, the message quoted properly is -Either another instance of OpenOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked. … Do you want to continue?- as stated in the first post of this thread.
With the .lock file deleted the program will start but in trying to open a file I get a message "OpenOffice quit unexpectedly" (literal translation from Swedish:"OpenOffice Avslutades oväntat"). Clicking on the button "open again" I again get the-Either another instance of OpenOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked. … Do you want to continue?
Clicking on the "yes" button returns me to "OpenOffice quit unexpectedly".

I do not experience this problem in OpenOffice. Read these posts about similar difficulties. Perhaps one will match your symptoms. Review [Tutorial] Mac FAQ, especially Q02/A02, and Q28/A28. If you solve the problem, I am interested in how you did that so I can update Mac FAQ. Word processor (Pages), spreadsheet (Numbers), and presentation (Keynote) applications come pre-installed from Apple on your Mac. You can use them if you are having trouble with OpenOffice. See Mac FAQ Q59/A59. Perhaps LibreOffice will work better for your situation.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.
