I hope I'm in the right place to post a question.... new to forum.
I accidentally did a "save as" of a spreadsheet. Don't know if there is a backup somewhere within the Open Office program. Can it be recovered?
Thanks in advance....

Re: Recover Spreadsheet?
Is the document still open? No problem, just save it.
Was the original document Saved before you did Save As? If so you should then have two versions of the same file; the original as it was when last you Saved it and the most recent resulting from your Save As.
If you have selected Always create a backup copy via Tools | Options | Load/Save | General then you can find the backup in the path defined in Tools | Options | OpenOffice | Paths.

I hate this damn computer, I wish that I could sell it.
It won't do what I want it to, Only what I tell it.

Re: Recover Spreadsheet?
Hello,
as "Save AS" don't destroy your Data you just have to find the Copy of your File.
If you didn't change the Name, ask Windows to search the File in all folders.
You May also Check where "recent Files" are listed Ritter in Windows or in Office.
If you didn't change anything, try opening a File and hit Save AS again. Don't save , but Check the directory you are given. Maybe you even See the File you are searching for. Don't save but cancel and usw the Explorer to examine the folder.
regards,
Jörn
