AOO 4.0.1 works on OS X ver 10.6.8.
I have it on my old MacBook running 10.6.8
and this is my security.... no idea which operating system this is ... perhaps mountain lion??
You have Snow Leopard. GateKeeper was introduced on OS X ver. 7.0 (Lion)
Are you sure you downloaded the correct version?
What is the complete name of the file you downloaded?

You should update your signature to the correct operating system.

Yes, I saw your previous post. Did you see mine? I asked for further information which you did not give. Further information is needed to solve your problem. As I said before, AOO 4.0.1 works on OS X 10.6.8.

I need the complete file name of the .dmg file you downloaded. The screen shot you posted only shows the first part of the name. The complete file name has several segments after Apache_OpenOffice_4. , including which update of AOO 4 you have, what operating system it is for, and what language it is, and ends with the file type .dmg.

Without that information I can't try to solve your problem.

Perhaps you should give the information I asked for before making a smart-ass remark "did you see my previous posts????", especially since you obviously didn't read my post.

I recently updated the MacOS Yosemite. I then updated open office. I couldn't open any of my documents and kept getting the wheel of death. Tried the suggestion of removing the open office stack under library and still kept getting the wheel of death. I have deleted open office even though I was wanting to get a lot of work done this weekend. I have deleted open office. Should I redownload? Will it work if I do redownload?

Howe ever it's a VERRY bad idea to update your OSX version on an old computer, Apple want you to buy a new one and by updating, the new software will slow down your old mac . Leopard 10.6 <3 (but this is not the topic here : )
Please tell us if it helped you ! :P
Make backups .
