Hi and welcome to the forums.
No this can't be done yet. See this open issue: Issue 66261 . It doesn't have any specified target milestone yet.
If you register with OpenOffice.org which is a different registration than for these forums, you can vote for the issue. Voting is one of the things that decides on which fixes get prioritised.
If this has answered your question please go to your first post and use the Edit button, and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can also use the green tick icon.

Re: [Issue] Sheet name tab color
Ever since using Quattro Pro, one of my favourite spreadsheets, back in the late 1980's (or very early 1990's), I've felt that having coloured tabs is a really good feature. I hope we don't have to wait as long as it's taking to get back to the moon again to have them back again. Was this a copyright issue that has prevented others adding a good feature instead of many of those we would never use in a million years.
Here's hoping. If they could do it in Fred Flinstone's time surely you can do it now OOo. Yes you can!

We're not the developers, just users trying to help other users. The developers don't hang out here.

OOo has too many serious quality problems. The developers should do their home work (bug hunting) rather than wasting their precious time with eye candy.
On the developers' mailing lists you can see lots of candidates introducing themselves as developers able and willing to help, but they never come up with anything concrete.

Much better: YOU can! Unfortunately, OOo has millions of different users with never ending list of demands. There seems to be almost no community of capable developers though. The "community" of millions of users can not even prevent that bugs in new features slip through the release candidates.glenmoar wrote:Here's hoping. Re: [Issue] Sheet name tab color
This feature will arrive "soonish". The mechanics are fairly simple--the code for it is already finished--but the process is more complicated because of things like getting the file format changed to support the new information, and providing for backward compatibility.
