Should we customise the site FAQ?

Post by TerryE »

I know that we have the Survival Guide for the forum, but there is also an FAQ link on te header of every page. At the moment this is a rather bland and standard phpBB3 FAQ. My question is: should we customise to be be more meaningful in the context of usOOo? This is straight forward once we've agreed the content. So have a look and give me your views. Here is my 1st cut list of comments:
  • Why can’t I login? Replace this and all refs the “the Board Owner” etc with the OUCV Administrators
  • Why do I need to register at all? Statement that it is current board policy that you must register an email address and agree to the TOU to post to the forum
  • I registered but cannot login! Need to add reference to OooForum, Wiki and CollabNet. Make sure that you have registered for THIS forum. Also link the topic on this
  • I registered in the past but cannot login any more?! Also link to topic
  • User Preferences and settings. Need a specific Q on how do I read my Pms
  • What is my rank and how do I change it? We don't use ranks in the phpBB sense
  • How do I post a topic in a forum? Registration is mandatory
  • Why can’t I add attachments? The issue here is max size and allowable types
  • Why did I receive a warning? Make specific to our code of conduct maybe link to topic on this
  • Why does my post need to be approved? We don't use this at the moment
  • What is BBCode? Needs a link to the BBCode FAQ
  • What are usergroups? Need a What are Volunteers Q
  • What is the difference between bookmarking and subscribing? Needs an RSS comment.
  • phpBB 3 Issues. Need an OUCV section above this one.

I don't think all will guess that TOU means the Terms of Use agreement. This also needs a link.

Other then the link "Policies and Terms of Use" at the bottom of every page?
