MDBTOOLS+ODBC+BASE 2.3 under Linux Ubuntu 7.1

Post by andy60 »

i'm working for OO 2.3 with MDBTools. I have errors with .mdb files:
- mdb viewer stand-alone: mdb file is perfectly opened.
- OO 2.3 gives me the documented error when i try to open one database's table.

These are my odbc.ini and odbcinst.ini files:

Code: Select all

[Crosstrainer]
Description	= Fitness software
Driver = Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)
Database        = /home/andy2/crosstrainer.mdb
Servername    = localhost
Username 	=
Password 	=
Port        	= 5432
and

Code: Select all

[Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)]
Description = MDB Tools ODBC drivers
Driver		= /usr/lib/libmdbodbc.so.0
Setup		= /usr/lib/libmdbodbc.so.0
FileUsage		= 2

I'm not completely sure it's relevant but perhaps you should check that thread: I can't get an Access file to open with Base.

Note that the Ubuntu version of OOo is often bugged. Have you tried with the official version? See here: [Ubuntu] Installing OOo on Debian and Co.

Your screenshots are not in English. Perhaps you should install the English language pack to have the messages in English so that more user could investigate your issue, see that thread: Change language for user interface (menus & help files).

Hi,
To be honest, I had always thought that the MDB tools didn't work within OOo.
