unable to install 2.3.1

Post by SAABQueen7 »

Hi. I have 2.3 and want to update. My 2.3 has started crashing a lot so I hoped the new version would do better. However, I have downloaded from 2 different places and each time I go to install it says my installer is corrupted by either the download or a virus or something. It says to contact the Oo site. Does anyone have an idea what I should do to resolve this?
I have WinXP2002SP2 with pleny of memory. I also clear my caches frequently and run virus and spyware scans several times a week. I have Bitdefender, Spybot and Comodo firewall.

Check the integrity of the downloaded file.

Shut down the old version, mind the quick starter.
Shut down your anti-virus.
Install.
If OOo continues to behave strangely, move away your user profile directory "Documents And Settings\SaabQueen7\OpenOffice.org2\" and restart the office. OOo will create a new profile.
