Hagar de l'Est wrote:Do you download it from here: http://extensions.services.openoffice.o ... ct/dict-nl? It's less than 1MB so it should take you few seconds only.
Hagar de l'Est wrote:I don't understand. If you see the Dutch dic in the list of the installed extensions (with English, Aust., French and Spanish), what's the problem???
So it has been added, hasn't it?Petra wrote:I've downloaded it from there with no problems. I've continued as follows: In OOo3, choose Tools-Extension Manager. This now shows up Aus/English dictionary, plus Dutch and English and French and Spanish dictionaries as well.

Else, click the Add button and browse your HD and double-click the downloaded extension.
Hagar de l'Est wrote:Download (or move) it to My Documents folder for example. Then when you click the Add button, go to My Documents directly and double-click it. OOo can't guess where is the file, you've to tell it.

The Spell Checker will check the part of the document which is in Dutch. If your default template is English, then when it finishes the Dutch section it switches back to English. If you do not want to use a Dutch Style, highlight the area you want to be Dutch and select the language.

Does the tutorial answer the question?PGAGA wrote:First, is there a tutorial on template style interaction.
Hagar de l'Est wrote:If you have a custom template: if you change the general setting in the Tools>Options>Language Settings menu, this will be applied only to the current document. New documents will still have the former value because the general setting is overridden by the Default paragraph style definition of the template. To make the change permanent, you've to edit the template.
Hagar de l'Est wrote:Sorry, I don't see how I could help further. Is there someone at home that could help you?
Or can you upload a sample file (see here: How to attach a document here) so that we can check if the configuration is correct?

Hagar de l'Est wrote:The Default paragraph style is set to English (Australia). So of course it can't work. I changed the setting to another language and works fine. So please change your paragraph style to Dutch.
BTW, I've split the topic since your second problem is rather different from the first one (installing a dictionary).
Hagar de l'Est wrote:Forget about that dialog. It's not that efficient because the list is populated mainly by the languages already in use in the document.
Modify the style from the Stylist as shown in the troubleshooting guide.

Let's back this up and see if we have a system problem. Attached is a template with Default set to Australian English and Default2 set to Dutch (Netherlands). The other styles in the template may be Canadian and US English. But test using the two defaults. If it does what you want, this means the problem is not your system nor your OOo installation. If it does not work, then there is a setup problem of some kind.
If it works, then you need learn about the F11 command and change the other styles to the language you prefer.
