Maximum Number of Rows

Post by Letendre »

Is there any way to get around the 65,000 row limit in Calc?

Yes, take a database. This office has one.

What do you mean by "take a database?" Thanks!

There are several databases out there without limitation except disk space. Some of them can be used with OOo. As long as you don't need to do complex spreadsheet calculations with >65536 rows *at the same time* you are better off with a database because a database is more safe, performant and it can guarantee a high level of consistency.
If you need to do complex spreadsheet calculations with >65536 rows *at the same time* and you insist on using spreadsheets, I know only one contemporary spreadsheet application where the latest version of 2007 supports more rows and columns -- it's known as Excel.
