Database Field
I am wanting to create a database that contains information such as book titles, author names, prices, ISBN, etc and have that as a field in a Writer document. I've seen how to connect it to a database that I can create in Calc, but my problem is that the field stays the same as when it was originally imported, and if I change the database, it doesn't change in the Writer document. I want the connection to be dynamic so that I can have one database that handles all the information for my books but if that information changes, I don't have to go through dozens of different files, I can just change the database and the rest will update automatically. How can I do this?
Re: Database Field
Can you tell us more about what you want the Writer document to look like?
Do you want a table showing all your records?
Do you want one document per record?
Are you wanting to create a form in Writer, or are you using Insert>Fields>Database?
Is the document just for view data on your computer, or do you want to be able to print it out?
