[Solved] Cannot write

I just installed the new Open Office 4.1.16 and cannot write anything on my documents section. I've been composing for 16 years. All I get when I click on a subject is a little blue square that slides left to right and encapsules the WORD logo. Then it offers three different yearly plans from 99 bucks a year for one person to 2 other plateaus. There's also a box that says something like "Continue for free with 365" or comething similar. But when I click on that nothing happens. I thought the whole idea is creating documents WITHOUT paying. Did I mess-up trying to install the free composition application? Or the install itself?

You may have downloaded from a pirate site. Uninstall it; then click on the OpenOffice logo at bottom right of this site, and download the version you require. Then install that version.

Hi!...and THANKS SO MUCH!!!! I took your advice and deleted theicon from my desktop and started over again. Not knowing what I was doing, I new icon appeared...looking exactly like the other one. I started hittingdifferent things And somehow got to my folder, but was able to make entries....navigating the new set-up with things like font size. So when I was done catching-up to entering my info by date, I stopped and thought maybe I was close enough to let Geek Squad take me down the "home sstretch." And just for the heck of it, I went back to one of the old icons I used to use to open my stuff before; went to documents; The new stuff wasn't there; but I tried to make an entry anyway....and "PRAISE THE LORD!!!"...IT STARTED WORKING!!!! Blind luck? The Heavens took pity on me?? I don't know....and i'm not gonna ask! But it would not have started without you suggesting erasing and taking a different route!! So thanks!!....to YOU...and the HEAVENS ABOVE!!
