[Solved] OpenOffice 64-bit exe download for Windows 12

Post by pylna »

Hi i recently switched to a leaked version of Windows 12 that is only 64-bit and does not have SYSWOW64 anymore and there it can't run 32-Bit anymore.
By design it seems Windows 11 is the last Windows that it can run 32-Bit exe via emulation of SySWOW64.
But in this leaked version of Windows 12 there isn't anymore 32-Bit SySWOW64, so it ONLY run's by default 64-Bit exe.

Unfortunate i had to switch from OpenOffice 32-Bit exe to LibreOffice 64-Bit since LibreOffice is the ONLY office suite that comes in 64-Bit flaveour.

I don't get it why OpenOffice doesn't have an actual 64-Bit version ?
Is it too hard to make it ?

I can't find myself the 64-Bit version, where is it ?

Re: OppenOffice 64-Bit exe where to download ?

Sadly, there is no 64 bits version of Apache OpenOffice for Windows. Due to a lack of developers, it's not likely to come, ever. Instead of switching to a leaked version of Windows, maybe you should stay on Windows 11 or make the switch to some flavor of Linux, where you can get a 64 bits version of OpenOffice. The developers don't come here, we are all users helping other users. If you want to contact the developers, you should send a mail to the developers' mailing list at https://openoffice.apache.org/mailing-l ... ist-public.
LibreOffice 25.8.4.2 on Ubuntu Linux

Updating this; on 2025-11-27 a developer wrote on the dev mailing list
The "Status" section of that Wiki page is out of date.

It's even better than that, all the modules build, but it was crashing
during startup.

There was some test failure during the build, which revealed some bugs in
the Win64 UNO bridge that could also be responsible for the crash.
