[Solved] Format Paintbrush in Calc

Post by m13m13 »

I tried to search the forum for answers to my question, but either it's not there or I missed it. Probably the latter because I don't see how someone couldn't have already asked this...

When I'm in a cell editing text, the format paintbrush is not active/available for use. As soon as I double-click the cell so I can edit the text in it, the paintbrush tool grays out. I don't see why the tool even exists if you can't use it within a cell. It must have been programmed to only apply the format of one entire cell to another, not to any specific text within the cell. What am I missing here?

Do not format the parts of the cell content differently. You can do it manually, but you can not do is by Styles nor by other built-in tools. (Ecxept the Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V of an entire cell.)

One thing I did do that helped a lot was pull the formatting tool (text color) down off the toolbar and hover it near the text I was editing, so it was probably easier than hitting the format paintbrush repeatedly.

Hi,
What does "Cf." mean? I'm not familiar with all this blog stuff. So, your point is to confirm that it's basically not doable, right? If only I weren't such an idiot, I would have found this on my own, right?
