[Solved] Search results display

Is there a way to select what the user wants for his default display for search results ? In the search page, we can select Display results as: Posts or Topics. I find the current default (Posts) not so easy because a single thread can take a lot of space if several posts match the criteria. The Topics option directly list the threads titles, it's more compact and it shows better the efficiency of the search.

If it can be modified, what do you think about setting the Topics option as the default one ? New users (or even others) may be lost by the results display.

Just wanted to add my agreement to the original poster. Saving customized settings would be great, but regardless I believe the default of 'results as posts' should be changed to 'results as topics' (for basic and advanced search). Very messy to look through results as posts, and probably a contributing factor to so many duplicate posts.

Also when linking to advanced search after a basic search if the search contents could be carried over that would be cool!

Great to see the search function was updated recently so that results are listed by posts as default.

Have I missed something? I haven't seen any change and the results should be displayed as topics, not as posts by default.

Could we get this changed anyway? Results by posts is not good.
