[Solved] Chart reproduced 100's of times

Post by steeler416 »

I made a simple 1 page chart. Now I have 100's of reproductions showing if I scroll to the right. I would like to get rid of all of the extras, but don't know how. Thanks.........Ed

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

The quickest way to get this resolved it to attach a document demonstrating the situation (remove confidential information then use Post Reply, not Quick Reply, and don't attach a picture instead of the spreadsheet itself). This is not a commonly reported problem and I can't help unless you attach a spreadsheet.

Thanks MrProgrammer............I just realized I may be in the wrong place. I'm using CALC in Libre Office. Is this the wrong place to ask?

First I think this would be a spreadsheet and not a chart. I noticed the problem when I tried to print it out, and after 3 copies I shut the printer off. That is when I noticed the TON of repeats to the right off of my screen. That makes the file so large I can't send it to you. I tried to make a reduced copy to send, but it still copies the whole thing. I made a snap shot so maybe that will help. Thanks......Eddie

What is this file exactly?
A .odt is for text documents. I tried to rename it as .ods but no luck (on a lightweight machine with xubuntu 23.10.

@Hagar: It is a pasted picture of what the OP sees, because the file is too large to post.

Strange, I couldn't open it on my xubuntu tablet but works well on my xubuntu laptop.

Of course we cannot find the problem with only a screenshot, whatever its format, so try to upload the original file somewhere else.

Definitely odd. You can get rid of the copies in two ways. By brute force selecting all columns that you want to get rid of, then Sheet > Delete columns. The other way may cost less time: start a new document, then copy & paste the columns that you want to keep, save it, then discard the old document.
Find my edited version below, hope I didn't delete too much.

That is perfect and I don't see anything wrong. You solved that so easy it makes me feel foolish!! I should have thought of that.
Thank you so much Floris v
