I'm using the formula =SUM (C4:C26) -- where C4:C26 represents and includes the data I'd like to total.
In the attachment, you can see the numbers I've entered and where I've entered them. What do I do after entering the numbers in order to see the correct total of the rows in the designated cell?
(Sometimes this yields =SUM (C4:C26)E27.)

Re: sum function yields ### and #NAME?
Place cursor where you want the answer, then enter =Sum(C2:C26), then press the Enter key.
If you get ### in the answer, you need to widen the column so it can display the all the figures of the answer.

Re: SUM function yields ### and #NAME?
I don't think my response has been posted yet, so I'll just say "thank you a lot" for this suggestion because I was not using the enter key after I typed the formula. Today I did, and it worked!

You can also use the green tick next to the input line to add the formula to the cell.
