[Solved] Freeze both row 1 and column A

Post by pecohen »

I recently upgraded to version 4.1.15. In earlier versions of calc, it was possible to freeze the top lines of a sheet so that scrolling down the column headings at the top of the sheet would remain fixed there, able to be seen no matter how low down in the screen you might scroll. Likewise you could freeze the left side of the sheet so that scrolling right would leave the row labels visible on the left. In fact you could freeze both vertically and horizontally on the same sheet so that both row and column labels would stay visible.

However, with version 4.1.5 it seems that you can freeze either vertically or horizontally but not both. Is there some way to do this still? If so, I cannot figure out how . Or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

Edit: Changed subject, was Just choose one?

Hello,

Even though my PC runs LibreOffice (cannot therefore let you be assured of the matter), if I fix row first and then the column, I succeed.

Won't you try?

Please find attachement.

Regards

Nick

Place your cursor in e.g. B2 and select Window | Freeze. First row and column will be frozen.

Works fine with 4.1.15 on Windows 10.

I could swear that I had tried that, and every other alternative I could think of and it had not worked, but just to be sure I did try it and it did work. Thanks.
