Opening a file from command line through a LINK

Post by antonio.grimaldi »

Hi,
new user at OpenOffice ... expert with MSOffice but ... here it's useless!
Here's my question:
I'm able at opening an Office file (Word, Excel) with OOffice (soffice.exe) from command line.
Actually UNABLE to open the same file through a link
Previously starting Word.exe and passing the link file (<path>\namefile.lnk) worked as well from command line ... NOT NOW!

Sorry perhaps the question is silly but i didn't find anything in the FAQ etc.
Thank you in advance
A.

Yes, I can reproduce this. Obviously OOo does not recognize the link as such and instead opens the link file itself.
I have found a similar issue http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=27327 that seems to be resolved (although not marked as such).

I think there is no way round it - except also filing this as an enhancement in the issue tracking system (see http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling ... ssues.html).
