OpenOffice hangs with large files from Excel

Hi there!

I'm experiencing this problem as well, big time. Large Excel files totally jam when loading.
NOTE: This didn't happen on Win10 and my previous computer. Was also an older version of Openoffice, but cant' say exactly which.

So it is an issue either with Win11 or with the new version.

Sure I always use the ods format, but often you need to load xlsx and only then save them as ods.

Edit: Split from OpenOffice hangs on opening large files because that topic was for OpenOffice 3.2 on Linux. You are asking about OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows so your situation is quite different and you need your own topic. -- MrProgrammer, forum moderator

Try turning off any advanced Clipboard management in Windows 11.

Try convert the .xlsx file to .ods format by a free online converter service, like the Zamzar.
