.DOCX files in Oo 3.0

Post by lqueral »

I just started using Oo 3.0 and was surprised that I could not save a new document in .DOCX format, as I had been led to believe I would be able to. Did something change at the last minute with the release of 3.0? I assume the spreadsheet and presentation apps are the same?

No nothing changed, the priority was to open them, as long as you can save in .doc, .docx is not really that important.

docx is looking more and more like a dead end format anyway.. one even Microsoft is not properly supporting...

So... in the end, you're probably a lot better off avoiding docx, pptx etc altogether.
