File save error in OpenOffice Writer

Post by Jampit »

I have a problem with the 'save-as' function. It doesn't work either for Writer or Calc. An error message comes up' Object not accessible. The object cannot be accessed due to insufficient user rights' This has only just started recently.

AOO is being prevented from writing.

If you hijack a thread the least you could do is read the previous posts in it. See [Tutorial] Problems with Windows Defender under Windows 10.

Check your Anti Virus too.
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.

Sorry, but I don't know how to start a totally new question. I had read earlier articles. The 'save' function is acting up as well as the 'save-as' (but the latter is more important to me at the moment). All the boxes in windows defender are ticked green. This all started after I followed the info to solve the 'going into a loop' problem with having to re-register AOO each time- don't have to do that now (thanks) but having shortened my reg details (got fed up) I now find I cannot open a saved Write doc- because it a different 'owner'.
I shall pursue options.

You may need to add soffice.bin to the list of programs allowed as mentioned in the link.
