[Dropped] Recovery window every time file is opened

Each time I try to open an OOC file, either with the shortcut to all OO docs or double-clicking on an OO file already created and saved on my hard drive, the OpenOffice Document Recovery window opens. If I click on Start Recovery it tells me the document I'm trying to open (even though I don't want to open a previous file) does not exist. After I click through two or three different error messages, it opens the file I want. If I try to open an OO file from an already open OO file using the <Open File> menu selection, the doc I want opens without an error message.
I reinstalled the current version of Apache OpenOffice ( 4.1.13) and the problem wasn't solved.

What is the OOC file?
Do you mean a native OpenOffice Calc .ods file?
Can you upload one of them here?

To stop this message, when prompted for Recovery press Cancel and it will go away forever.

Cancel doesn't stop this from happening.

Please upload one of the problematic files here.

Try the LibreOffice. At least a portable version of it.

As a last try, you can reset your OpenOffice user profile.

But +1 for the switch to LO anyway.
