Restoration of file access

Post by wwbartsch »

Hello,
I was using my computer with some documents open. My 2 year old daughter came along and smacked some keys on my keyboard.
I now have 3 files that I can open but they stay open for only about 5-10 seconds and then close, all the while with the wheel spinning.
The one thing I noticed about these 3 files is that when I do open them, they do not contain the line under the title line thar reads "File Edit View Insert Format Table Tools Window Help".
I'm hoping this is an easy fix.
Any help would be very much appreciated so I can continue to access these files.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If you click the Edit button in the AOO toolbar, are you able to edit the file?
In the File > Properties > Security tab, make sure Open file read-only is not checked.
Else, in the Windows Explorer, right click the file and in its properties, check if it's been tagged Read-only. If so, uncheck it and see if it's better.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the 🖉 button if your issue has been fixed.
