problem while file recovery
problem while file recovery
I use the newest linux-kernel, since this i get some times a wrong character from keyboard-input.
Now i have a problem, o-office crashs if i try to load a file.ods .
i'm shure there is a spezial wrong character in my file but how can i edit this file and remove this character.
Because ooffice crashs every time, if it try to recover it.
any solutions?
Danks Andrei

Re: problem while file recovery
I can open the file you attached... no errors, no crashes.
What version of OpenOffice.org are you using? What Linux distribution? Are you using the OOo prepared by the Linux vendor? or the "official" OOo (example, there have been problems reported with the build of OOo provided with the latest Ubuntu)?

No problem with your file for me with OOo 2.3.1 (official version) and Ubuntu.
Try to rename your OOo user profile (~/.openoffice.org2).

Re: problem while file recovery
Your file is an archive so you may be able to open it with something like file-roller. I forget what the components are but one of them shows the contents of the file. You could look through that and delete anything that looks out of order. Then archive the components as a zip file and change the file extension to .ods.

But it may be difficult to spot the wrong character that makes OOo crash. Have you tried to rename your OOo profile ? Perhaps a configuration file related to the locale is damaged.
