Merge a photo on a photo for printing

Post by manxman202 »

Good afternoon all.

I have been assembling a booklet to send to the printers, as it will be for a short print run, and needs to be A5 hardback with all that goes with it and is way beyond my capabilities.
The text is just B and W and sets up fine in Open Office and the title etc I did with the Text box icon.
BUT..... I tried to add a smaller photo to show the main charcter. I created anothe Text box to size and dropped the photo into it, the idea being to superimpose one on top of the other. It looked OK but would not print.
So the problem I have is how do I merge the two photos?

Any suggstions or advice willl be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Drew.

Insert the Cover in Draw and also insert the Other picture in that document.
Click on Other picture and drag it on the Cover. Place it where you want.
Then select both by dragging a rectangle around the cover.
{IMPORTANT] With this selection, select File - Export and select SELECTION in the Save dialog.
Name your new picture (and maybe you should use .png as extension)

I've attached an example

You don't need the frame. In Writer just add the overlaying photo, size it and drag it into position over the top of the cover photo.

If necessary, right-click the cover photo and send it to the back or bring the overlaying photo to the front.

All done!
