AOO Writer Crashes with (at least) tables

I really like Aoo. I've been using it for well over 10 years, but this latest issue is the worst I've ever experienced.

I have been having problems with Aoo crashes, some locked up the entire system requiring forced power-down. So I updated Aoo (see details at the end) and for the profile elements, I used the new one's except I restored the original profile elements (to keep some of my customization) as follows:

I continue to get crashes, in this case when I create a new (empty) document with a 3x3 table. I can start to fill in the table, but when I merge columns of a row, it crashes every time. If I didn't save, I lose what I did. If I save after every keystroke, the crash losses will be minimal.

Can anyone help?

Try the LibreOffice.

I haven't been able to duplicate the problem. Please upload a sample document which has data entered and is ready for merging of cells and tell exactly what you then do that results in a crash.

That may be a contributing factor.
If you rename your profile so that you use a new one, can you replicate the issue?
If not, it means that there is something in the former profile that cause troubles. Either you check each folder of the former profile one by one or you just get rid of them.
