[Issue] Editing Templates created in MS Word

When using open office the template will not allow user to type directly to template a box come up and each cell must be entered and OK'ed.

What OS and what version of OOo?
Can you upload example file, if it not consist sensitive information?

If I understand correctly your question, you should subscribe and vote for it (up to 2 votes per issue) : Issue 33737 - Allow for in-place editing of input field (turn off pop-up).

this is fixed in the go-oo version of openoffice.org

Seems it will be integrated in 3.1 version also.
