Swedish dictionary extension

Post by Bramanid »

I want to install a swedish dictionary extension to use for spelling control
Down loaded Swedish dictionary from https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/pr ... openoffice
Extension manager will not recognise this file and says it does not exist although it clearly does.
Any advice?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

LibreOffice may offer a better compatibility.

That extension downloaded and installed for me with no problem. Probably the OP has a corrupt download - I'd suggest he tried again.

My Swedish spellcheck does not work since several versions of Openoffice. Now I have 4.1.9 on Windows 10. The Swedish spell check worked before. Now, the spellchecker recognise alleatory 1 word of 10.
Please help if you can. Thanks!

Try to reset your OpenOffice user profile and reinstall the extension. I tried some time ago the Swedish extension and it installed fine also.
Else, try LibreOffice.

Ensure that you have installed the Swedish Dictionary

At the bottom of your document you can select from the Status Bar (View -> Status Bar) your required Language

For permanent change.
Tools -> Options -> Language Settings
Default Languages for Documents - Western - Swedish (Sweden) - You should see the ABC✓ next to Swedish (Sweden) if your dictionary is installed.
