[Solved] Table: Make border heavier around groups of rows?

Post by shilliard »

I want to make groups of rows in a table to stand out by making the borders heavier around the groups to emphasize the grouping. Is this possible?

For a TextTable in Writer there is no conditional formatting and there are no CellStyles. AOO also doesn't know Table Styles. Therefore I think what the questioner is asking foe can only be done by manual formatting:

Select the group of cells (complete rows likely) and select 'Table' from the context menu (gotten by rightclick).
Then select the 'Borders' tab and make your settings.

(BTW: Recent LibreOffice Writer has a feature named "Table Styles". It isn't a fully working style family, but nonetheless it's sometimes useful.)
On Windows 10: LibreOffice 24.2 (new numbering) and older versions, PortableOpenOffice 4.1.7 and older, StarOffice 5.2
