Page numbering and auto-format

Post by ricbailey »

Hi, can anyone tell me how to add page numbers to a word processing document in OpenOffice, and how to TURN OFF the auto formatting that projects what you want to type prior to your completing typing? Much Thanks!

For the automatic correction functions, see [Tutorial] Automatic functions in Writer - enable / disable.

For page numbering, see [Tutorial] Page numbering.

how to add page numbers to a word processing document in OpenOffice,
Switch on the Header or the Footer feature in the applied Page style and insert a field "Page number" into it.
how to TURN OFF the auto formatting
I do not know what you meant as "Auto formatting"...(?) You can not switch off all of the applied Styles in a Writer document.
You can use the Default Styles only instead of the many customized Styles and direct (manual) formatting properties.
You must use at least one Character style, at least one Paragraph style and at least one Page style...
