[SOLVED] Outline with Spaces between paragraphs

I would like my outlines to have a space before each new number/character. I can do it manually, but does anyone know a way to set up the outline to automatically insert a carriage return before each outline heading? Also when you edit an outline, how do you save it for future use?

Here is a file with an outline. Each numeral follows after the prior line, unless I type a few characters after the new numeral, then go to the previous line and press return to insert another numeral in between the last 2, then backspace to remove the un-needed numeral. I can do it, but its cumbersom. I have done that on this file, but if you type a return after the last line, the next numeral is on the very next line.

The easiest way to do this is set the paragraph line spacing to double

See the Format menu / paragraphs dialog / indents and spacing

Alternatively you could change the Spacing above the paragraph.

You can either select all the paragraphs and apply the line spacing to them all or (better) create a style which has double line spacing and make those paragraphs that paragraph style.

Hitting ENTER starts a new numbered paragraph. If you want to insert a blank line before starting a new numbered paragraph, hit SHIFT+ENTER to start a new line, then ENTER to start a new numbered paragraph.

Thanks Folks. Ilike JeJe's suggestion to put a space above the paragraph. That works, but I didn't want the double spacing within the paragraph. So the space above does the job. Bill's method also works nicely. Press shift-return to go the next line, then press return and the next para number is inserted. Both methods do what I want

In my opinion it is a better solution to use a custom paragraph style with increased before/after spacing for the desired part of the document - instead of the usage of the Enters/Shift-Enters.
