[Solved] Footer Page numbering

Could someone please advise how to set page numbering - I have followed help suggestions to a tee and cannot number pages properly - I enter a page number, then another and all other page numbers indicate those very numbers only - all other previous numbers are deleted and replaced. I am very frustrated and have spent 3 hrs so far investigating this issue - Help! thank you

You shouldn't enter page numbers as actual numbers, You should /Insert /Field /Page Numbers; this field is "magic"; it changes from page to page, allowing the correct number to show in each page header or footer.
