[Solved] Mac OS 11 & AOO Read Error: Format error discovered

LOOKING FOR A DIRECT INTERVENTION!!!!!

I've done Google Searches and have gotten answers on this very forum.

I've gotten as far as downloading XML editors, none of which I know how to use at all. It would probably be a simple fix for anyone familiar with XML, that would absolutely not be me.

It's an error that likely occurs because there are a lot of yellow comments from someone who likely edited in Word.

I was able to see comments just fine when I first opened the document. Saved the document a bunch of times, most recent being yesterday. Left the document open with iMac on as I had been the past few days without incident. (This old iMac has been a replacement for my dead laptop the past few days and is unpredictably slow)

Restarted the iMac this morning; was being funky about turning on. Was worried about document, and sure enough I get the error message:

"OpenOffice 4.1.6

Read-Error.
Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 2,5799(row,col)."

Again, I've dug through and found some answers on the forum.

I can't get the recommended XML editors, just EditIx-XML Editor (xmleditor has not successfully loaded once), which highlights a line, of which I am not even sure I need to edit. I DO NOT have a ton of time to learn completely alien things as I'm hitting deadlines. Any help appreciated!

Repaired file emailed: the usual munged multiple comments near the start after the file has been edited by MS Word. The file opened for me and tests reported it as "well-formed", but I suspect there may be other munged comments within it - long comment anchors with 1111111 strings, of a length I haven't seen before.

I am going offline now, so if there are more problems I hope someone else will act.
