Show Table Name in table Header

Post by morphingstar »

As tables split over pages it would be convenient if there was some automatic marking as to where a table starts and ends.
Every table in a Writer document has its own name, which is editable.
I would like to have this table-name in the table's header.
I could not find the desired field in the offering. Does it exist?
Is there a Writer extension available? (Once the name is in the header its display should not be lost when the extension is not installed on a different computer.)

So far I had the 1st column marked with a letter. Table-1 A, table-3 C, etc.

Thanks

Add a caption to your table. It is located outside the table.
Cut the caption an paste it into your table. After you have created another table paste again. The numerator counts up...
If the table's heading is repeated the numerator shows again.

Add the caption above the table and then move it in the first row, to be included as the table header. You can also remove the borders so that it looks like a caption outside the table, see attachment.

Not sure I understand what you mean with your table numbering.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.
