All my .odt files are locked. If I edit and save a copy, it's locked. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Open Off.
I've chosen to have hidden files displayed but there are no lock. files in the folders.

Re: .odt filess locked by unknown user
I start a spreadsheet in ods and type along. If I don't save it every thirty seconds, it goes into some recovery mode and box. So I try to recover it, but it only saves up to my last save, So I spend more time recovering than doing my spreadsheet. It does this over and over.??????? help.

Check that Windows 10 is fully updated, and update your OpenOffice to 4.1.6.

Do you have any form of continuous backup utility running? OpenOffice does not like its open files being touched by anything; I have a memory of one such utility for Windows, can't remember its name other than that it began with a "C", being reported some years ago as causing such a problem.
A quick test is to start Windows in Safe Mode, then run OpenOffice. If OO runs stable while Windows is in Safe Mode, then the problem is caused by some program or driver that runs in Windows normal mode.
