[Solved] Page Count in Status Bar

Post by cstanford »

Page count is off by eleven pages in the status bar at the bottom of my Writer document. This isn't a page numbering problem, yet, but I'm betting it will be when I get to that point.

Has anybody seen this problem before?

As always, thanks in advance.

There may be non-displayed blank pages, for example when a right page is followed by a right page. Check your page styles: there must be an intervening left page, but this might not be displayed.

I do have a few page styles -- about four, ones I've used many times in other documents, none of them are right page or left page styles. Not sure what to look for since the extra pages are not displayed. Thanks for looking into this and I appreciate your further guidance.

Hold the phone... when I do the side-by-side view I see "Blank Pages" that I did not insert. They look to have a watermark to that effect. How can I delete these?

Thanks!

The blank pages are because you have a left followed by a left, or a right by a right. You may need to make a definite right or left followed by a default or a mirrored selection.

See if looks like this one: [Solved] Page numbers increasing by twos.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.

Unfortunately it does not. The blank pages do not show up in print preview, but only in the two-page view from the status bar. I've tried everything and nothing is working.

The forum has a maximum file size of 128k. If your example is larger you will need to upload to a file hosting site such as
Dropbox or MediaFire .and post the download link here.

Appreciate the help!

Page 39 of the report, in regular view, should be page style "Letterhead 1st page" but it's not letting me change it to that. This could be the problem.

I'm off out to a meeting; factoring in travel there/back etc, I won't get to look in detail at this for about 12 hours. Can you please specify which page content you want on right pages - Cover page certainly. Do you want Table of Contents or Letterhead 1st page on right pages?

If some other person wishes to tackle this in my absence, please feel free to do so.

I've cut and pasted the report's contents into a new document and in doing so, have somehow fixed the problem. To be honest, I've never built these reports with right or left hand pages -- whatever comes up as the default is how it's been left. I'll mark the issue as 'solved' though it really isn't, other than to say that I'll keep a much closer eye on page count as these reports are being built in order to catch any issues before something goes awry.

Thanks for your help and offers of assistance.
