[Solved] Calculating different budget categories

Post by nothreat33 »

Hello everyone. I have started using calc to keep track of my spending. [image blow] is it possible to specify to calc to add all of the same categories (grocery/gas/etc) of expenses into a single cell when it is in this format?

Your image did not load but I will try to point you in the right direction. Let's say your categories are in column B, rows 2 - 100 and the amounts spent are in column C.

Code: Select all

=SUMIF(B2:B100; "gas", C2:C100)
will tell you how much you spent on gas.
If you need more help, please upload a file, not an image.
