Include Data from Base in Writer

I am writing on a fairly extensive product-catalogue and the results look good. The products are managed in base. Now I want to include the prices in the actual catalogue which is then updated and re-published every month.
How can I link writer and base in such a way, that when I update base the prices in writer are also updated?

Based on what you say, Mail Merge would probably be a solution - see chapter 11 of the Writer Guide
