Document format is changing after upgrading openoffice

Post by Subramanum »

Team,

In our application we are using Openoffice 3.2.1 in production. Now we are going for upgrading the openOffice version from 3.2.1 to 4.1.6 linux 64 bit.

We have copied all existing templates(around 500) from 3.2.1 to 4.1.6 linux server and also fonts installed in /usr/share/fonts/truetype folder and also /opt/openoffice4/share/fonts/truetype folder.

We are generating documents in openoffice on particular folder.

Now we are facing the issue that in the format (font, size, bullet point and images) of document is changing while comparing with old version of openoffice.

Can you please suggest the solution of issue.

Regards,

Install TestFonts extension from
https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/testfonts
and check that OO can find the fonts it requires for each template.
Edit: Note that OpenOffice (and presumably LibreOffice) only finds fonts when it is opened, so if one installs fonts when OO is open, such fonts are not found until the next restart of OO.

Thanks for your quick response.

We have installed required fonts in Linux server but font size, check box size of the all template is not matching in new OpenOffice 4.1.6 server and image (barcode) is not showing on correct position.

Can you please suggest to us.

Have you used the Testfonts extension as RoryOF suggested? What was the result?

If fonts are installed on a server, I doubt OO is seeing them; they may need to be installed on the local computer(s); Use Testfonts extension to verify what fonts OO is looking for, and what fonts it is finding.
