So - I downloaded Java. Did the Installation. Opened up Open Office preferences, went to Java, checked the Java that I'd just installed, clicked ok, restarted Open Office like it told me to, and it still won't work. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Do yourself a favour and install https://libreoffice.org/ for Windows 64-bit. LibreOffice is the successor to OpenOffice which is almost dead by now.

Oh, sorry. I didn't notice. I know next to nothing about Mac OS. Nevertheless, I think that LibreOffice is a better choice.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
I have not installed MacOS 10.14 (Mojave). The situation with Java might be different there.

That's too vague. If you need any further assistance explain in detail what you are doing and why you think OpenOffice needs Java. Tell us what happens and what you expect to happen.Ambercelt wrote:… it still won't work.
